Tuition
Lynda undertakes tuition on a class basis.
She works in a large, roomy studio, providing comfortable conditions and ample space for each class member.
Lynda is a popular tutor who is able to inspire and teach students of all levels, from newcomers to art who are less accomplished, to those who are becoming artists in their own rights. Her ability to share her knowledge and to offer one-to-one tuition to each student, even in a class setting, makes the classes popular – there is often a waiting list.
Lynda offers full-day classes once a month, and students are given suggestions for ‘homework’ to help them develop the work they have done in class during the previous weeks. In the summer she offers full-day workshops near her home in Donhead St Andrew.
Please contact Lynda for information on courses, availability of places and pricing.
Art Society Bookings
As with her classes, Lynda has the gift of being able to offer stimulating talks that are both interesting and informative.
Her talks, art demonstrations and one-day workshops are so popular with art society members that she is now taking bookings for up to a year in advance.
Please contact Lynda for more details.

The dates are:
2 Week Holiday:
28 May–11 June 2008
9 Day Holiday:
12 June–21 June 2008
The Location

2008 will be the sixth year that Lynda Appleby has run Art Holidays from La Bouquerie, St Geniès in the Dordogne. The twelth century village of St-Geniès-en-Perigord is situated half way between the historic and picturesque towns of Sarlat and Montignac. This region, one of the most beautiful in France, is also one of the most significant areas for prehistoric art in the world. The Dordogne and Vézère Valley are the very cradle of art as we know it and the place where the visual image was first recorded.
Tuition

During the holiday students will receive up to four hours tuition per day in some of the many stunning locations in the region, with the exception of two non-teaching days for the 2 week holiday and one for the 9 day holiday. Optional individual tutorials will be available to review work. Landscape, architecture, light and colour are all areas that are particularly appropriate to look at in the environs of the Dordogne. In the event of inclement weather there is a large studio room available to use so that students can work indoors.
Food and Accommodation

All group members will enjoy a communal French breakfast and a buffet lunch provided by La Bouquerie’s excellent chef Jean-Marc.
Each student will be accommodated in their own holiday chalet situated at ‘La Bouquerie Hotel of Open Air’, which is ten minutes walk from the centre of St Geniès and set in beautiful countryside. Each chalet has two bedrooms, shower with wash basin, WC, sitting room, fully-fitted kitchen and deck with patio furniture. Single cabins are available at an additional cost of £110 for 2 weeks and £70 for 9 days.

La Bouquerie prides itself on offering the highest standard of holiday facilities in an atmosphere of ‘calme et tranquilité’. The bar and terraces, shaded by sub-tropical and tropical plants, overlook superb swimming pools and gently rolling hills. The restaurant is outstanding and for the energetic there is a tennis court and table tennis facilities.

Partners and friends of students are very welcome. In addition to the facilities of La Bouquerie there is an golf-course at Vitrac. Arrangements can be made for fishing permits for the Dordogne and Vézère rivers and canoe excursions and boat trips can be booked from La Bouquerie. Also, from La Bouquerie, there are excellent marked footpath walks around the surrounding countryside and a riding stables is 500 metres along the road.
Transport
All local transport, including travel to and from Bergerac Airport, is by comfortable air-conditioned mini-bus. Students are asked to make their own arrangements for flying to Bergerac but advice can be given if there is a problem. For non-students transport will only be provided to and from the airport. All art kit is transported to France by Lynda by car.
